GuruCare – Optional Extended Warranty & Accidental Damage Cover

GuruCare extends your device’s standard warranty (24* months, as shown on the product page when you bought it) by an extra 12 months. GuruCare+ also adds accidental damage protection (drops, cracks, liquid).

When does GuruCare start and end? (applies to both GuruCare and GuruCare+)

  • Start date: The day you purchase the device (same as your standard warranty).
  • End date: The end of your standard warranty period plus 12 months.
  • Example: If your device has a 24-month standard warranty, GuruCare ends 36 months after purchase (24 + 12).
  • If your standard warranty period is different (e.g., 12 months), GuruCare ends 12 months later (12 + 12 = 24 months total).

What is covered under GuruCare+ (accidental damage protection)

If you have purchased GuruCare+, it covers accidental damage to the screen, body, and liquid damage that affects the device’s functionality, subject to a $199 excess per claim. Repairs for these damages will be arranged by us.

What is NOT covered under GuruCare+

  • Normal battery wear over time.
  • Cosmetic damage that does not affect function (e.g., minor scratches).
  • Intentional damage or misuse.
  • Third-party repairs – voids the plan entirely.
  • Data loss – always back up your data.
  • Only one accidental damage claim is allowed under GuruCare+.

What is NOT covered under GuruCare (Standard plan)

  • Normal battery wear over time.
  • Cosmetic damage that does not affect function.
  • Intentional damage or misuse.
  • Third-party repairs – voids the plan entirely.
  • Data loss – always back up your data.
  • Accidental damage is not covered at all under the Standard plan.

⚠ The $199 excess applies only to accidental damage claims on GuruCare+. Manufacturing defects are always covered at no cost under both plans.

How to file a claim under GuruCare+

If you encounter any issue, contact us immediately at hello@mobileguru.com.au or 1300 362 017. Please provide clear pictures of the device (including IMEI) and proof of purchase. We will then arrange repair, replacement, or refund as appropriate. For accidental damage, the $199 excess must be paid before any repair.

GuruCare must be bought with the device. It cannot be added later. It applies only to that specific device and is non-transferable.
