No, it is not waterproof. In spite of this, the device is water-resistant. It can remain waterproof for up to six meters underwater for 30 minutes. Though it can withstand heavy rain, it’s not recommended to take it out for a swim. According to Apple, this resistance may decrease over time and is not permanent.
